The Hare's Ear Nymph is arguably the most productive fly in the past and is still to this day. This is a variation of the Hare's Ear tied on a jig hook with a tungsten bead to help it sink through the water columns into the strike zone faster. On this pattern, we use CDC as the tail to give it additional movement as it is drifting. We have also added shiny ribbing around the body to grab the fishes attention while still having a buggy profile. We try to tie these as buggy as possible to increase the movement in the water as it grabs the fishes attention. If you are wanting a fly that can produce on almost any river there is, you can't go wrong with the Hare's Ear Jig.
